Our Vision

Sutton Coldfield Wind Orchestra is a community wind band for people who simply enjoy making music together.

We want to create a band that is ambitious about the music we play whilst being friendly and welcoming to all players. Whether you have been playing your instrument for decades, have recently picked it up again after a long break, or are looking for somewhere to take the next step as a musician, there is a place for you here.

Our aim is to build a friendly, welcoming orchestra with a real sense of community. We want to challenge ourselves with good music, put on concerts that audiences genuinely enjoy, and give our players the chance to discover music they might not otherwise encounter. Most of all, we want rehearsals to be something you look forward to each week: a chance to play, improve, laugh and spend time with other people who love music.

We are based in Sutton Coldfield and welcome players from across the local area. You don’t have to be a virtuoso, and you don’t need to audition. If you can play a wind, brass or percussion instrument and fancy making music with us, come along and have a go.
